Linda Sue Hagood was born November 02, 1951, in Pana, Illinois. She was the youngest of six children parented by Carson McNerlin Hagood and Vona Maye Matthews/Cook/Thunhorst/Hagood. On February 28, 1971, Linda married Neil Seiler Perkins of Pana. They have one child, Shawn Corman Perkins. In August of 1980, Linda married George Eugene Culley of West Frankfurt, Illinois. They have one child, Carson Andrew Culley/Hagood.
During the first half of her adult life, she was employed by the State of Illinois in Springfield. During the latter half of Linda’s adult life, she worked as a certified Rehabilitation and Restorative Aide. Linda always held the dream of seeing America by rail and riverboat. She never took for granted the freedom and liberty of living in the United States or the beauty of our nation. Linda’s legacy will be that her descendants served Christ with the same passion and conviction by which she faithfully prayed for them.
Preceding Linda are her parents, Carson and Vona; siblings, Bill Hagood and Barbara Osborn; brother-in-laws, Barry Osborn and Keith Lockwood.
She is survived by her sons, Shawn (Jackie) Perkins and Carson Hagood; grandchildren, Dylan (Aubrey) Perkins, Brittany Perkins, Delaney Adams; great grandchildren, Dean Perkins and Hallie Perkins; sisters, Sharon Lockwood, Gloria (Ted) Mathewson, and Melva (Bob) Smith.
Memorial visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service ensuing at Noon on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, which is located 5 miles south on Red Ball Trail off Route 185 at Coffeen, Illinois. Burial will be at Mt. Moriah cemetery followed by a light meal in the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church fellowship hall. Linda has requested that any financial memorials be given to The Center for Autism in Illinois, 548 S. Ruby Lane, Fairview Heights, Illinois 62208.
